Love Is In the Air!
Valentine’s Day became widely celebrated in the United States in the early 1900s, and by the 1920s (the same decade the Amarillo Building was born), handwritten love notes, elegant cards, and grand gestures were all the rage. That era embraced romance, craftsmanship, and timeless design… much like our building itself.
Fall In Love with the Symphony
The Amarillo Symphony is feeling the love! Their romance-filled month begins with a warm and intimate beginning as the Amarillo Symphony presents Love Songs for Valentine’s on February 6. This evening of timeless favorites sets the tone for the season, celebrating love through music meant to be shared and remembered.
The celebration continues on February 7 with the annual Symphony Ball, a true Amarillo tradition. This elegant evening brings the community together for music, dining, and dancing in support of the symphony and the arts that enrich our city.
As the month draws to a close, the focus turns to one of the symphony’s most romantic programs. The Amarillo Symphony will present Romance at the Symphony with performances on February 27 and 28. In conjunction with the concerts, the symphony will also host a Lunch and Listening event, giving concertgoers the opportunity to take a deeper dive into the music, the composers, and the stories behind the performance.
Together, these four events create a month-long celebration of romance through music. Learn more and purchase tickets at amarillosymphony.org.
