In this edition:

A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Tenants

At the Historic Amarillo Building, we believe it's the people who make our building truly special. We want to take a moment to thank each of our tenants for being such an important part of our community.

Whether you've been with us for years or have just recently joined us, we are grateful you've chosen to be part of our building's story.

As we continue to preserve our history and make improvements for the future, we look forward to growing together and making the Historic Amarillo Building a place we're all proud to call our home away from home.

Thank you for being part of our history, our present, and our future!

Make Room for Music This November

Our neighbors at the Amarillo Symphony have plenty planned for November, from an evening of chamber music to a lunchtime preview and a concert featuring some of Amarillo’s talented young musicians.

American Voices | November 13 at 7:30 p.m.

Spend an evening with Chamber Music Amarillo on November 13 at 7:30 p.m. as they present American Voices at the Arts in the Sunset. Soprano Sarah Beckham-Turner joins an ensemble of strings and piano for music by American composers Amy Beach, Florence Price and Shawn Okpebholo.

Pomp and Circumstance | November 20–21

Later in the month, the Amarillo Symphony will present Pomp and Circumstance at the Globe-News Center for the Performing Arts November 20 and 21 at 7:30 p.m. Principal Horn Guglielmo Manfredi, mezzo-soprano Emily Pulley, and the Amarillo Master Chorale join the orchestra for a program featuring Elgar’s familiar marches and Glière’s Horn Concerto. Youth Symphony musicians will also perform alongside the orchestra.

Want to learn more about the music before the performance? You can join Music Director George Jackson, Manfredi, Pulley and host Dr. Kimberly Hieb for Lunch & Listening on November 20 from noon to 1 p.m., also at the Globe-News Center. This Symphony Guild event is $15 and includes a boxed lunch. Please make your reservations by Tuesday, November 17, to guarantee your meal.

Connecting Families With Resources

The Coalition of Health Services is inviting parents, self-advocates and agency representatives to Path to Partnership, a virtual community meeting hosted by Uniting Parents on Tuesday, November 17, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The meeting is for those who care for or work with children and adults with different abilities and special health care needs. Guest speaker Analisa Riggins of Therapy 2000 Lubbock will discuss Charity 2000, Networking for Kids–Lubbock and AMBUCS. It will take place through Microsoft Teams. To RSVP or request more information, email maria.garcia@cohs.net or delesa.kendrick@cohs.net. Know someone who could benefit? Please pass the invitation along!

Downtown Goes Western

Get ready to see a few more cowboy hats around downtown! The 31st World Championship Ranch Rodeo returns to the Amarillo Civic Center November 12–15, bringing working ranch cowboys together to compete for a world title.

There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the arena, too, including the Cowboy Trade & Trappings Show, live music, the Ranch Equipment Expo and the Youth World Championship. Whether you’re going to a performance or spending an afternoon browsing the booths, it’s a great time to head downtown and enjoy one of Amarillo’s favorite annual traditions.

Get Ready to Give!

Many nonprofits across our area count on The Panhandle Gives to help fund their work throughout the year, including an organization right here in our building.

From November 23 through December 1, the Amarillo Area Foundation’s nine-day campaign will support nonprofits across the Panhandle’s 26 counties. Participating organizations receive 100% of the donations they raise, and those raising at least $250 also receive a share of the Amplification Fund. Last year, donors contributed more than $10 million through the campaign.

Our neighbors at Coalition of Health Services on the 7th floor are participating and would appreciate your support. You and your business can help by donating, sharing their fundraising information or encouraging coworkers to learn more about the programs serving individuals and families throughout our community. COHS will also host a Meet & Greet during Panhandle Gives week, giving building tenants a chance to meet their team and learn about their work. Watch for details coming soon! In the meantime, visit COHS.net or follow Coalition of Health Services on Facebook for updates.

As you plan your giving this season, consider supporting COHS or another local nonprofit that matters to you.

As always, thanks for reading! We hope you have a wonderful month.
